Happy Holidays from Prayers N Paws
As we enter the Holiday 2007 Season we, human and canine, at Prayers and Paws would like to thank you for your support. This year has been a very tough year for us both in our hearts and our checkbook. Adoptions were down as many that we took in have special needs and some became sanctuary Dobes with special medical needs that are draining to a rescue. Still we will be there for these special ones as they have been left down by humans before and we want them to know they are loved and safe and have a home no matter how long they need it. Our hearts have been broken as Burton passed away this year (Burton had been a sanctuary Dobe with medical problems). With each sanctuary dog we take in is one that we can not rescue and rehome which make your donations even more important than ever. Our main revenue source is adoption fees and, of course, donations.
We thank you for the support you have given us in 2007 and hope that you are able to make any size holiday donation to help us continue to support the sanctuary kids and continue our rescue and rehome work in the upcoming year.
We hope that each and everyone out there has a blessed holiday season and an abundant, healthy, and happy 2008!

Giving Thanks - from the Paw of the Webmaster
Thanksgiving 2007

I had a chance to visit a very special little Dobergal over Thanksgiving. Although I love every dog that comes through our rescue there is one that will always hold a very
special place in my heart. This little gal I met over Thanksgiving several years ago. I picked her up in Charlotte and we road to Roxboro to the rescue together. This very emaciated
and pregnant Dobergal was exhausted and very sad. She had been through a lot just trying to survive with her pups after being abandoned. I kept telling her she and pups were
safe and very soon she could relax. She delivered her pups shortly after we arrived in Roxboro. She was such a trusting soul as we handled her and her pups.
Some of her pups died and others were adopted and live happy lives now. Hannah was a different story. She was at our rescue almost a year and a half. She was still rather small and keeping weight on her was a challenge. Then Sue saw Hannah on our web and after all those months Hannah had a home! This special dog taught me many things in just a small time period and after receiving some very sad news Friday morning seeing her once again restored my spirit.
Thanks Sue for contacting me and allowing me to visit Hannah! I snapped some photos of Hannah and she looks great! Check out more photos from Hannah's Holiday Road Trip by clicking here.
Across Many Miles
A HUGE thank you goes out to another wonderful adopter also named Sue. While visiting the rescue to pick up her new furkid Justice, Sue agreed to transport a little girl to my parents in Hagerstown, MD. My folks are now living in Western PA and after having surgery I couldn't make the drive to get them the dog I adopted for them. We found a closer alternative by meeting Sue as she returned to New England area in Hagerstown. Sue - my folks and I really appreciate your help in getting their precious bundle of joy, now named Piper, to them. Your willingness to take on the transport is greatly appreciated.
One last item
I want to thank all of you, including Taye, for being patient with me this year. I have been sadly behind on the web and I do apologize. I have had medical and work issues and have not had the time to devote as I had in the past. I am on the mend and I believe work is stabilizing so updates will be more frequent going forward. So please if you have send me an update of photos and do not see them here please resend. I also had my pc crash and lost a lot of data. So please resend and keep new updates coming!
